The May 28 ZBA meeting - because of Memorial Day - was held at the same time as the Town Board Meeting - requiring a viewing of the video to prepare this report.
The first discussed was a public hearing for a property on Beechwood Circle variance for a 26' X 30' garage - requiring a variance for 180 square feet.
A neighbor commented that there are drainage issues affecting the area and a lot of branches/trees and overgrowth in the area. There is flooding that takes place and goes on to her property. The Building Department representative explained that it isn't on town property and has no easement, and it is the property owners' responsibilties to resolve. There is a drainage pipe that can get overwhelmed when it rains/snows alot.
She has notice erosion in the area. The neighbor wasn't aware of the placement of the garage. The Building Department suggested that the neighbor should hire an engineer -- and stop by the Zoning Department to further discuss. The applicant has the intention of cleaning up the area. The ZBA tried to explain that tonight's issue was regarding the placement of the garage. The ZBA approved the request for the variance.
A Public Hearing for a 2' variance on Lenny Court for a portico/steps to add protection for the front door. The ZBA approved the request for the variance.
