A very bare bones public hearing was held at 6:00 PM at the Hughsonville Fire Department on October 17th. The hearing opened at 6:00 PM for public comments that the board will take into consideration when they vote on the 2023 budget in the future. The 2023 budget is for $1,551,884 - $1,124,337 to be collected from Real Estate Taxes from residents and businesses in the fire district. The remaining required revenue is from Fund Balance and grants. The Fire District also reports $4,181,483 in fund reserve, $1,116,448 in unassigned fund balance.
There were no public comments, and questions from the 3 public members attending were courteously answered, with a reminder that questions were outside purpose of the public hearing . The hearing was adjourned at 6:15 PM.
